Thigh Lift Surgery by Jaibaji Plastic Surgery
Following the success of major weight loss in San Diego and Coronado, many are faced with the reality of unsightly excess skin and fat present on the inner and outer thighs. An inner thigh lift, also known as thighplasty, is a cosmetic procedure designed to surgically remove this persistent fat and loose skin, to reveal a more svelte body profile.
Mini thigh lift surgery
The scar is made along the thigh crease. It should be done in patient with minimal skin excess in their inner thigh.
Standard thigh lift involve making a vertical cut along the inner thigh to remove the excess skin and fat. Liposuction is commonly performed with vertical thigh lift.
Thigh lift procedure does not treat cellulite. Cellulite is a different problem and is addressed separately.
When to Choose Thigh Lift Surgery
Aging, gravity, loss of skin elasticity and weight fluctuations can all contribute to accumulation of excess tissue on the thighs. Thigh lift surgery can benefit people who are motivated to tighten and improve the contour of their thighs. You may be a potential candidate if you meet some of the following criteria:
- You are in good physical and mental health
- You are at a stable body weight
- You have realistic cosmetic expectations
- You are dissatisfied with the appearance of your thighs
Through a combination of liposuction and excision (tissue removal) techniques, a thigh lift can significantly improve the size, shape and contour of your thighs. Other body contouring procedures may be performed in conjunction with a thigh lift to create an overall slimmer appearance.
Thigh lift surgery may not be right for everyone. The best way to find out if you are an ideal candidate is to schedule a one-on-one consultation with Dr. Jaibaji. Factors such as your medical history, current health status and cosmetic goals will be taken in to consideration during the consultation process.

This 2-3 hour procedure is typically performed under general anesthesia. There are various types of thigh lifts, so the incision location, length and pattern will vary.
When possible, incisions will be made in the natural contours of the body to conceal scarring. As the incisions are made, the excess skin and fat will be gently removed. If necessary, liposuction will also be used to remove localized deposits of fat.
Following the removal of excess fat and skin, incisions will be closed with temporary drains to collect fluid buildup. The treated area will also be wrapped in gauze and an elastic compression bandage to minimize excessive swelling and bruising.
Thigh lift surgery can be combined with other procedures such as arm lift or breast lift.

Recovery times vary among patients, but most are able to resume work and other normal activities within 1-3 weeks of surgery. The results of your thigh lift will become gradually apparent over the course of several weeks as swelling and bruising begin to subside.
